Sometimes “loosening up” brings “unfortunate” results. It brings growth & development through the unexpected.
From Taos Clay Facebook Page:
“Our Lead Resident Artist & Program Director, Ashley Gauntt is kicking a$$ for this year’s Annual Pint Night. Here are images of her finished & in progress pieces to date in anticipation for the big event! She’ll have over 30 cups to choose from for the Pint selection, not including her silent auction piece...that one is a surprise 😉
If you’re a Taos Local, stay tuned to hear from both Taos Clay Residents on KNCE radio on Monday, February 5th at 8:20am!
Stay tuned for more Pint Night Previews from our second Resident Artist, Maria Spiess, Taos Clay Members and our Silent Auction Artists. With just over a week leading up to the event, the excitement is building everyday. Maria & Ash registered for NCECA Sunday morning, so it’s officially pedal to the metal...we’re going to NCECA!!
Thank you all for your continued support and sharing our ads & event page with your friends, family, & groups 😘 Keep up the great work! We hope to see you February 7th! Cheers mates!”
What do you hold inside? Careful what you reach in for. It just might toxic. Though it might also be just what you're looking outside for.
New jars in the making. Amongst other things. Stay tuned. I just may have come out of hiding...
Outside of the studio I’ve enjoyed a new project that has helped me decompress. Painting a friends longboard for fun that has inspired me to want to make them out of clay...to scale, with all the parts as well. Just getting started with this one. sides are ready to go, then its the reverse side. It’s going to be crazy rewarding to see it finished. It reminds me of another idea Ive had for the last several years: a collaborative with other artists from tattoo artists to street/graffiti artists. Their work on mine. Ironically since I’ve been on Instagram, I’ve notice a lot of those types of artists have found me here. Let’s see what happens shall we. :-)

Yo! Sorry I havent posted much, communicated much,...I’ve definitely picked my nose much tho...just sayin. Anyway, besides the nose pickin, for those of you who know me well, Im a workaholic even when I ”take time off” like I had over the past year before moving to NM To be back with the fam. Since my Arrival to Taos Clay Studios August 1st, Ive taken 2 days off. One, to go to Santa Fe for a day to run errands plus visit the International Museum of Folk Art, and two, to start moving into my new place that I FINALLY got last week. Yes thats right, 2 months later. I signed up to be the Lead Resident Artist plus the Program Director here at Taos Clay Studios which but little did I know how much work needed to be done between new changes & updates to programs. I started with the Gallery & Supply Store, then the Studios & kiln yard, then biz restructuring with Department Coordinators. One month later I officially got settled into my studio alongside my studio mate & second resident artist, Maria Spiess, and brought back our various programs & classes. We’ve made a lot of progress. The studio environment, I’m told, feels tremendously better. Though its been stressful, especially the first month, it blows my mind that I have interns. Regardless of the adjustments & stress, its so far been a move that has welcomed things Ive been working towards & hoping for during the last 11 years of my career: interns, my own studio assistant, running a studio & gallery...it may not be my biz but I’ll admit ive thought about it being so And I run it like it is...like mom & dad always said, drive it like you stole It. Things happen for a reason. To inspire you to keep going. Stay tuned, the story’s not over yet. Cheers! Miss ALL of you and in case I havent told you this before, I dont just do what I do for me or because its my passion,...i especially dont do it for the $, I do it for my fam, my bros & sis’s, my nieces & cousins, and all of you who have made the most mind blowing choice to adopt me into your life in some way. Live by example. Inspire those around you...might as well make it good. I love you. Thank you!
Something about myself...
