So much to say...not sure where to start. So many new beginnings happening simultaneously.
This is my niece, Elizabeth Grace. First day on the job & the nurse granted her as an over-achiever. We had our first argument that day as I held her for the first time, until I asked if she was pooping, and she smiled. That's my girl.
Dear Lizzy, Thanks for being here. Thanks for choosing us to be your family. You, my love, have inspired so much gratitude within me; for you, for myself, for our family, and that I'm no longer scared to admit I've always wanted to begin a family of my own someday. I hope to inspire you in return; to be true to yourself no matter how scary it may feel or who you may disappoint along the way or how many times you may "fail" only to realize that you're always succeeding. I look forward to watching you grow, and you teaching us to do the same. As I set out for the next adventure of my journey in the coming weeks, I will do my best to show you & the fam how much separation is an illusion...with love. It's not easy moving away from family again. But it feels so good for them to be proud of you, for you to be proud of yourself... no matter how scary it can get.
Just before we welcome my niece into our world, I was awarded Artist in Residence at Taos Clay Studios, Taos, NM for a One-Year Residency, possibly longer. After 12 residency applications in less than the first 6 months of this year, nailed it. Don't give up on yourself. Everything you want, starts with you. Be willing to take action & positive self-talk no matter how well you can talk yourself out of it!
Something about myself...
